Position Summary

Plans, conducts, and coordinates the administration of a variety of Human Resources functions such as HRIS, payroll, employment, affirmative action, recruitment, ERISA compliance, leaves of absence, unemployment insurance, worker's compensation and related areas.  Generally specializes in several areas and provides backup for colleagues in others.


Keep abreast of Federal and State laws that affect the company.  Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of all company policies and procedures.  Conduct research into personnel practices, policies and procedures.  Advise managers and supervisors how to comply with laws and company policies.  Conduct studies to determine feasibility, cost benefits, and advantages to implementing personnel program applications.  Typical tasks would include design of recruitment strategies, creating the affirmative action plan, re-writing job descriptions, payroll audits and back-up, handbook updates, choosing vendors for typical HR related functions, training managers on any new payroll or employment related software and tasks of similar complexity. 


Duties may include:  Recruiting, Payroll processing and administration, HRIS administration, LOA administration, Affirmative Action compliance, ERISA compliance, Benefits administration, and other duties closely aligned with Human Resources and Payroll functions.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, a related field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years' experience in a Generalist role
  • HRIS and Payroll software administration experience
  • Recruiting and Affirmative Action compliance experience
  • ERISA compliance experience
  • Leaves of Absence administration experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
  • HR related certification preferred
